Have you seen someone's smiling recently? well, any kind of smile of course. Have you know that smile doesn't guarantee anything? I mean, its not always that a smile means someone's happy or someone's satisfied with things. Smile is a smile, a cover for each face. Anyone can smile, ofcourse no one can tell the difference where is a heart smile or a 'smile' smile. People happy, they smile. People Sad, they smile also to make them self though, letting people know that life must and will go on.

And like I said, A smile is a smile, only our self know what is a smile for.

Indonesia Became the Runner up of AFF Cup 2010 even they won 2-1 againts Malaysia in the 2nd leg at Gelora Bung Karno Jakarta. Full agregate of 4-2 for Malaysia because they won 3-o at Bukit Jalil Stadium.

Wellfoot Passanger

Ordinary life around the abandoned ruin old house near Sherwood. Can't move around so much. Struggle to find its own habitat where the water didn't stop flowing. It loves the sound of water drop from above the shelter of it's so called living area. Water drops means hope. Giving strenght when the thirst drop in, bringing out freshness among all the dust that stick around because they don't dare to move without wind's help.

From a far distance, suddenly she saw someone's running to her and yelling her name. She's confused, wondering who could that be, it was her first time came to that junk area. She can not see the person's face also because it covered with scarf. But it's definetelly a boy.

ONE DAY AT THE CITY

The above is a view from KL Sentral Monorail station, I went to KL downtown last Tuesday to do some stuff regarding my tax as a worker here, from Cyberjaya I took a bus. Based on the info I got, the tax office is reachable by walking distance from a monorail station called Maharajalela. So I jump off the bus in KL Sentral station and continue by monorail. Sketching while waiting.

Back from the tax office, I'm heading to KLCC, where the famous Petronas Twin Tower is. There's an exhibition of Malaysian child book illustrator in Petronas gallery on 3rd floor. Spend quite times enjoying the great arts in the gallery, then I went out to the park side of the area, try to find a good spot to view. It's a bit cloudy, but it's hot also, I'm drawing and sweating, but enjoyed it though.

Walk to work

I stayed in Cyberview garden cyberjaya, not for from my office at SME Technopreneur 2 building, it's a 10-15 minutes by foot, and it's a routine I'm doing it every day, going and back from office. Actually there's a free shuttle to the office complex, its every 8.15am and 8.45am, but I seldom take the shuttle, sometimes because they're already left which means I woke up late and also I still enjoyed my morning walk, and been doing it for more than one and a half year now.

Art books

Sewaktu pergi ke Capsquare untuk liat event KLDW 09, gw sempetin mampir di standnya Basheer Graphic Book store, pertama si liat-liat aja, tapi hasrat untuk memiliki tak tertahankan.. :D, akhirnya gw beli dua buku Illustrasi, The Art of Marc Silvestri dan 100 ways to create Fantasy Figures by Francis tsai. Memang tadinya gw juga naksir berat dengan buku-buku design yang bertebaran dan bikin gemes, tapi belakangan ini gw lagi dan kembali interest dengan ilustrasi, komik art, digital art, fantasy art, dan makin sering buka deviantart (tadinya jaraaaang banget), punya account juga dianggurin aja (masi tetep dianggurin si, gw brosing liat2 karya orang aja.. ^^)

Francis Tsai adalah comic artist, illustrator, penulis, serta conceptual artist. Marc silvestri pun adalah American comic book artist, creator and publisher serta menjabat sebagai CEO dari Top cow production, salah satu nama beken di jagat perkomikan Amerika.
Anyway, kalo mo liat artworks super keren dari mereka berdua, monggo silakan langsung ke linknya Marc Silvestri dan Francis tsai.

KL Design week 2009
-Finito-

KL Design week has end their events last saturday (march, 4), I managed to visit few places where the exhibition was held. I went to the Capsqure and KL tower on saturday, march 28 with Adhee n family, also Jerry-Bhegi, creative Indonesian couple work in Perlis and two of their team mate, after we arrange an appointment in KLCC. And then its only me went to the national Art gallery on the weekend afterward on Saturday, 4th of April which is the last day. There are other few places also, but those are mainly for conference which we must order a ticket first, and my decision to see only the exhibition.
As I mentioned in my previous post, this events participant is not only local Designers - professionals and Degree show-, but also International designers such as Stefan Sagmeister, David Carson, Chris Bosse, Aya Kato, and many others. The fact is I'd enjoying more the exhibition if it's held in one place, rather then I have to travel few places. The events is under our expectation, But I won't complain about this and that further more, since I consider my self lucky be able to see what others haven't... :)

Terdapat gambar-gambar dari beberapa kota di dunia dengan bangunan khas kota tersebut yang lampunya dimatikan dalam mendukung gerakan earth hour. Jakarta juga ada lho, dengan Bunderan HI nya :)

siapa yang ngga tau tagline dari produk pasta gigi ngetop di Indonesia ini. Bahkan jaman gw kecil dulu kalo nyebut pasta gigi udah pasti gw sebutnya Pepsodent, alias maksudnya odol. Tapi Pepsodent cuma salah satu dari sekian banyak produk keluaran dari Unilever, perusahaan multinasional yang memproduksi barang konsumen- seperti makanan, minuman, pembersih, dan peralatan pribadi-yang bermarkas di Rotterdam, Belanda. Perusahaan ini berdiri sejak tahun 1930 dengan beberapa merk terkenal lainnya yaitu Rinso, Sunsilk, Lifebuoy, Dove, Clear, Blue Band, Walls, dll.

Mungkin banyak yang udah tau makna dari logo unilever, tapi kalo gw pribadi tadinya masih bertanya-tanya tentang makna logo ini, akhirnya setelah browsing sana sini, didapatlah beberapa info.

Di tahun 2005, Unilever merubah bentuk logo mereka untuk lebih mewakili tema vitality(daya hidup/kekuatan). Logo baru ini juga direncanakan bertepatan dengan ulang tahun perusahaan yang ke-75. Logo baru mereka mewakili tentang Unilever dan vitality. yang digambarkan dengan penggabungan 25 ikon berbeda yang mewakili Brand Unilever membentuk huruf U, ide daripada vitality tersebut dan manfaat yang di bawa oleh Unilever untuk konsumen.

"Perkenalkan nama saya Si Bedu, kucing jantan keren peliharaan kesayangan Denot. Meskipun warna asli saya tidak terlalu seperti ini, tapi garis besar warnanya yang kuning dan putih bolehlah. Saya tau kalo denot kangen, makanya dia bikin2 gambar saya, it's oke with me no problemo. Hobby saya makan, tidur meringkuk, tengkurap, kadang terlentang lama dan senang bercanda main gigit2an tangan si denot, kadang2 saya teriak2 minta masuk ke dalam rumah kalo malam, tapi kadang2 juga teriak2 minta keluar rumah (kalo kebelet), dan suka teriak2 juga kalo musim kawin.. cari jodoh bo'... dan asal tahu, saya ini yang megang di sekitar RT saya, biarpun badan saya ga terlalu besar, tapi nyali boleh di adu... istilahnya lo jual ane beli, tapi kadang2 ane duluan yang ngejual si... dulu punya sodara 2 ekor, si narji sama ketty, tapi dua-duanya wafat sakit waktu kecil... sekarang saya sebatangkara.... eh nggak denk... kan ada denot n family.. hehe"

Due to the chinese new year public holiday, I decided to look around KL wheter there will be a parade of chinese culture as I see on the net they have it last year, too bad I didn't find one that day, so I keep on walking down the road and found The Sultan Abdul Samad Building which is located in front of the Dataran Merdeka - literally the Independence Square - in Kuala Lumpur.

The structure takes its name from Sultan Abdul Samad, the reigning sultan of Selangor at the time when construction began. Topped by a shiny copper dome and a 40m high clock tower, it is a major landmark in the city. It serves as the backdrop for important events such as the National Day Parade and the ushering in of the New Year. The Sultan Abdul Samad Building now houses the Commercial Division of the High Court of Malaya.(wikipedia)

We're just got back from playing futsal at Sport Arena, its just opposite our office in SME 2 building. We have planned this since about a week ago, it'll be great to have some activity atleast once a week and futsal is quite a good choice. Quite tired it is, but its fun!
Nine of my colleagues come to play, 4 of them is Iranian, and 4 of us from indonesia, other 2 is from China and Malaysia, so almost like Iran vs Indonesia, and after that I know why Iran can get through to the world cup and not Indonesia... wehehehehe... their stamina mann.. fiuhh (or is it my stamina is the problem wahahahah), anyway, I got my team mate 3 Iranian, and 1 Indonesia, so its 5 by 5. We win! hahahah..

Pengennya si kuliah s2 di luar, nyari beasiswa..? wah suseh, apalagi buat yang biasa-biasa kayak aku gini... but it's all about the money, bo-nyok juga ga punya pohon duit yang bisa aku petikin buat biaya ini itu, terlalu banyak yang udah mereka keluarin buatku. sekarang saatnya ngebalas mereka dengan berusaha bekerja sebaik-baiknya sehingga didapatkan gaji setinggi-tingginya hehe... banyak yang belum terlaksana buat nyenengin mereka. Jadi inget waktu semester akhir bawaannya dah males banget nyelesein kuliah, maunya kerjaaa aja... tapi aku ngerasa kok ntar jadi sia-sia perjuangan bo-nyok buat ngeliat aku jadi sarjana, dan pastinya itu akan bikin aku ga tenang. So, dengan segenap jiwa raga dan tekat dibulat-bulatkan akhirnya kelarrrr. Thanks GOD, thanks Mom, Thanks Dad, Thanks Brother, Sister, Aunty, uncle juga grandma yang sering nambahin ongkos and semua yang selalu back up gw dulu.

(GOING) MARRIED GUY!

Ini temen gw namanya Odie, bulan April ini akan married. Pasangannya bernama Odit, mirip yah namanya... gara-gara nama itulah mereka akan bersatu mengarungi hidup hehe...
Jadiii, awalnya mereka ini kenal lewat chattingan, gara2 nama mirip saling ngobrol, odit tinggal di Semarang, Odie di jakarta, melalui chatting itu selama beberapa bulan (apa minggu yah?) kyaknya mereka saling nyambung, akhirnya sayang2anlah mereka by chat, ga pernah ketemu, cuma tau masing2 lewat foto Friendster, komunikasipun ga cuma lewat chatting aja tapi juga nelpon... (Interlokal mannn... bemodal juga donkkk- rutin pula!) sampai akhirnya, Odie ke Semarang mo ketemu Odit, dan setelah ketemu, ternyata tetap saling nyambung, dan jadilah Odie sering bolak balik Semarang-Jakarta. Odie kerja di Advertising di daerah radio dalam, sedang Odit waktu itu kerja di Female radio Semarang, kadang2 produser, kadang2 siaran juga.. gituh... pernah mereka di interview buat satu acara di Female radionya, tentang Love by Chat, Odit di studionya dan Odie on air by phone dari Jakarta.
Odit akhirnya pindah kerja ke Jakarta, biar makin deket... Kemarin mereka abis foto pra wedding, dan their real wedding is coming soon... Selamet ye bos...

Eye is one of the most fungtional sense for our creativity... buta warna? mmm... gimana yah.. tapi banyak orang2 kreatif yang buta warna parsial kok... maksudnya gak pure buta sama sekali warna, tapi ada kecenderungan sulit untuk membedakan bila ada 2 atau bbrpa jenis warna yang perbedaannya tipis, to find out whether ur color blind or no, or just partial color blind... periksalah ke dokter mata terdekat.. dia akan memberi serangkaian tes untuk melihat kemampuan mata kita...

Think about design?

Mikirin design itu emang gampang-gampang susah, design itu kan terkadang ga cuma bikin sesuatu yang bagus dilihat, keren, matching, tapi juga perlu satu taste of design yang bikin design itu bermakna, meskipun cuman buat diri sendiri... apalagi kalo udah menyangkut design sebagai media promosi... banyak hal-hal yang perlu diperhatikan to...? dan alangkah baiknya kalo kita punya referensi tentang latar belakang design promosi yang akan kita buat, contoh2 design kompetitor, referensi design2 milik orang lain yang kurang lebih bertema sama, meskipun hal2 semacam ini terkadang MUNGKIN tidak diperlukan kalo kita sudah punya jam terbang tinggi dalam dunia design, dan tingkat originalitas kita benar2 tingggi... TAAAPPIII.... masa sih? rata2 karya setiap orang itu kan pengembangan dari karya2 yang sudah ada, atau paling tidak ada sedikit sentuhan dari karya2 yang sudah ada... so... THINK ABOUT DESIGN... basicly nothing is pure original I guess...

Aaaaaaahhh.... lagi rame2nya ngomongin banjirrr nih dimana2.. kalo kata almarhum Bang Benyamin S, Jakarta kebanjiran... di Bogor angin ngamuk... suasananya emang lagi penuh cobaan yehh.. sabar yaaa.. kalo kita sabar pasti nanti ada balasannya.. sabar itu jangan sampe ada batasnya..
