KUALA LUMPUR DESIGN WEEK 2009

The spirit of cutting edge creativity and innovation comes to life in KL Design Week 09, the first event of it's kind to be staged in Malaysia. KL Design Week will be the largest annual International Design Event held in Malaysia. Presenting a diverse and enriching series of events for designers and design aficionados, we hope that these exhibitions, installations, lectures, conferences and forums will amaze, inspire and nurture the creative potential and diversity that is inherent in Multicultural Malaysia.

KLDW is proud to present to Malaysia acclaimed international designers such as Chris Bosse, Stefan Sagmeister, Aya Kato, David Carson, Kuntzel+Deygas, Troika, IDN, Shun Kawakami, Tokyo Plastic, Studio4˚c, Jl design and Umeric amongst others who will be showcasing and discussing their work. Lectures, conferences and masterclasses held throughout the week will be thought provoking and challenging. Local and international designers will engage in discourse about the future trends of design, the endless possibilities of medium and technology, career possibilities and the design industry locally and internationally.

Some of the highlights of KLDW09 include the Maximum Minimalism conference, where designers discuss the evolution and aesthetics of Minimalism in design, and it's importance and function in today's globalized culture ,Deconstructing the Cities of Design, a forum for designers to deconstruct and share with the audience the design scene, culture and lifestyle that is unique to the city they come from and Super Motion Design Conference at MATIC , where the rapidly changing landscape of design, animation and motion graphics is discussed.
